To earn the Microsoft Office (User) Specialist MOUS /MOS certification for Microsoft Office or Microsoft Project, you must pass one or more certification exams. LEVELS OF MOS CERTIFICATION: 

There are 3 different levels of MOS Certification.

Core certification - For each Office application, and MS Project, you can obtain MOS Core certification. This is your basic MOS certification and is available individually for all applications. For example, you can get certified in Excel as a Microsoft Office Specialist.

Expert certification - For Excel and Word you can obtain MOS Expert certification. The Expert certification can be obtained individually for either Excel or Word.

Master certification - The MOS Master Certification is achieved by obtaining Expert certification in Word and Excel, and by obtaining Core certification in Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
